Callaway - This is Callaway, our dog. She's okay with foster dogs coming in, as long as they understand they are supposed to bow down to her. There have been a couple that have needed reminding on occasion. |

Duke - Duke was the biggest dog we had in our house, but, as the video shows, he was also the best dancer. We were working on getting him to lose weight to get him down from his 180 pounds. We got him down to 160, but that wasn't enough to clear up his Wobblers and and he had to be put to sleep. Thanks to the all the bad breeders and people who overfeed their dogs. |

Ike - We took Ike home after one of the people at the rescue said he was totally nuts. We thought that sounded like he would fit right in. We were right. We had Duke and Ike at the same time and the two of them would play all day with Callie. They were great together. We were going to adopt Ike, but work took us to Mexico for three months. Another family fostered him while we were there and they had adopted him before we got back. In the event that something happens to his new parents, he becomes ours. Anyone know a good hit-man? |

Bruno - We had Bruno on two different occasions. The first time was a grand total of five days and $800 of damage. He had been locked up in a dog run for over a month. They wouldn't let him out, but would just occasionally hose out his poop. They didn't let him out because no one could control him. We got him and had him in a crate while we went to dinner one night. He found a way out of his crate and called a jihad against the room the crate was in. The second time we got him, he was over his shut-in fears and was a great dog. We came really close to adopting him as well, but waited too long again. |

Micah - Micah was a little firecracker. We had her temporarily over a holiday weekend. She was the most beautiful dog with those pale blue eyes and white-merle fur. She was very playful and would herd up all the tennis-balls in the house and sit on them. She was deaf and as it turns out she was not a Dane, but a Catahoula. Apparently deaf Catahoulas are impossible to control and the rescue was advised to put Micah to sleep. |

Venus - We got Venus when she was something like three weeks old. She was taken away from her mother WAY too soon. Shanyn wasn't working so she spent just about every waking hour taking care of her and some non-waking hours. She grew a whole lot in the short time while we had her; I think she more than doubled in size. Her adoptive family named her Queenie. Sorry Venus. |

Hemi - Hemi came to us as a second chance for him after he attacked the animals of another foster family. They figured that he just had a problem with other male dogs so a stay with a female dog should be okay. Hemi was put to sleep for aggression after putting holes in the male dog theory as well as Callie's ear. |

Camden - The rescue got Camden, his brother Claude, and their sister all at the same time. The vet brought Camden out to us so we never met the other two dogs. We were told they all looked very much alike. It wasn't until a couple of weeks after we had turned Camden over to his adoptive family that we found out that the vet had actually given us Claude. It makes sense now that Camden didn't know his name. |

Walter - Walter came into the rescue totally malnourished and sick. After about $2,000 in vet bills Walter was back on the road to recovery. He was an awesome dog and was adopted by a vet student. We still miss him. The picture to the left was his face after getting his first biscuit. |

Saint Francis - St. Francis wasn't really a foster dog, but Shanyn was evaluating him for fostering and adoption. I think SAINT Francis was a bit of a misnomer. I would have gone more with Doctor Destructo. Nice dog, but he really doesn't like to be in a crate. |

Kaupili - Kaupili is Hawaiian for "Man's best friend," or so someone thought. |
